Clinical Career Path
Patient Care Assistant, Levels I-III
Provides patient care under the clinical direction of a registered
nurse. Performs duties as delegated within the scope of education
and validated clinical competence.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Oral and written communication skills, basic knowledge
of mathematics and problem solving skill acquired through
a combination of education and experience.
- Current basic cardiac life support (BCLS) certification.
- Certification as a nurse aide and one year experience
in an acute/ambulatory environment preferred.
Ability to:
- Read, understand and articulate English.
- Demonstrate competence in the provision of care as delegated
by the Registered Nurse within the assigned unit to the
population described in the scope of service above.
- Manage competing priorities and maintain composure under
stressful situations.
