Individual Nutrition Counseling
For individual counseling the Registered Dietitians perform
a complete nutrition assessment that includes the patients
metabolic, nutrition and lifestyle factors. Based on this
assessment, they help each patient identify practical and
achievable nutrition goals and develop an individualized nutrition
treatment plan that matches the individuals lifestyle
and preferences. Individual counseling services are provided
at the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Peter
M. Wege Center for Health & Learning. Current referrals
from physicians include, but are not limited to, the following
indications for nutrition education:
- Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, Gestational)
- Eating Disorders
- Failure to Thrive
- Feeding Problems in Children
- Food Allergies / Sensitivities
- GI Disorders
- Hyperlipidemia
- Hypertension
- Hypoglycemia
- Lactose Intolerance
- Liver Disease
- Oncology
- Premenstrual Syndrome
- Preconception Nutrition
- Pre- and Post-Surgery Nutrition
