is an exciting time, there's so much to consider. Don't worry.
Saint Mary's and our Advantage Health partners offer you thorough
prenatal services and programs. You'll have the best of care.
Planning Your Prenatal Care
Saint Mary's can help you find your physician, OB-GYN, midwife
or other health care professional. Together, you'll plan your
complete care. Learn to eat healthy. Exercise safely. Manage
your weight gain. Lower your stress. Know what to avoid. With
regular checkups and expert advice, you'll learn to make healthy
decisions for you and your baby. Right now is the right time
to find a pediatrician or family practice physician, before
your baby is born. We'll help you find a great one that's
accepting new patients, as close to home as possible.
Classes to Help You Prepare
There's no better time than now to prepare for your new arrival.
Childbirth classes are available for new parents to learn
what to expect and what to do in pregnancy, labor and delivery.
Parents-to-be are taught important parenting and bonding techniques
like infant massage, breast-feeding and infant and child CPR.
For experienced moms and dads there are refresher courses,
and for siblings, classes to prepare for the new addition
to the family. There are programs for every caregiver in the
family.
Our birthing Education Coordinator will give you a complete
class schedule. For those who can't attend, we have self-teaching
programs you can use to learn at home. Private one-on-one
sessions can be arranged for those with special needs. The
Wege Institute at Saint Mary's also offers services complementing
these programs. Call them for a current schedule of available
services.
