The Birthing Center
There's no better place and no better start.
From the start of labor through delivery, recovery, and postpartum,
there's no better place for you and no better start for your
baby. At The Birthing Center at Saint Mary's, there are many
options to make the entire experience as personal, individual
and as comfortable as possible. Tell us about your wishes.
We'll do everything we can to accommodate them. You simply
won't find a more dedicated group of highly skilled obstetric
nurses, doctors, and staff to support you.
Comfortable Private Birthing Rooms
Our private birthing rooms are warm and inviting. We furnished
them with many of the comforts of a bedroom at home. You'll
appreciate your private bathroom equipped with your own whirlpool
tub and shower. Should a special need arise, these furnishings
also store advanced state-of-the-art medical equipment discretely
out of sight. If a cesarean delivery is required, The Birthing
Center also has a special suite, fully equipped to handle
these procedures.
Every Option for Managing Labor
Nearly every mother-to-be in labor finds some labor and pain
management techniques more beneficial than others. We have
many medical and non-medical options to help you through your
labor. Comforts like whirlpool baths, massages, dim lighting
and other therapies offer relaxation. With the advice of your
health care provider, you might decide an epidural or medication
is best for you. We will do our best to offer whatever options
provide the greatest comfort.
 Your
Special Delivery
With your health care provider, you decide what special plans
to make for the delivery of your baby. We can help you make
the occasion even more memorable and meaningful by including
the father, special family members or a birthing coach. They
can be a great source of personal comfort and emotional support
for you. Whatever your ideas, share them with us.
Mother-Baby Care
Your newborn can stay in your room as often and as long as
you wish. Rooming-in together is a great way for you and your
baby to bond. When a moment to yourself is what you really
need, you'll rest comfortably knowing your baby as the full
attention of our dedicated Registered Nurses in a safe, secure,
monitored nursery.
The Highest Level of Neonatal Care
It's seldom that a newborn needs extra medical care, but it's
reassuring to know that if your baby does, this area's highest
level of neonatal care is right here. Saint Mary's Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit is a Level III facility, staffed with
specially trained Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. This specialized
care includes the services of a neonatalogist, 24-hours a
day.
Visiting Hours and On-line Visits!
Family members are always welcome and may be with you and
your baby as much as you wish. Others are invited to visit
during scheduled visiting hours. For family and friends that
can't be there in person, invite them to visit our on-line
nursery on the Saint Mary's website. With your permission,
we'll post your newborn's photo in our on-line nursery for
all to enjoy.
