About the Foundation
Advancing the mission of Saint Mary’s Health Care
through philanthropy and stewardship is the mission of the
Saint Mary’s Doran Foundation. Simply put, the Foundation
organizes all fundraising efforts for Saint Mary’s
Health Care – including past successful capital campaigns
for The Peter M. Wege
Center for Health and Learning and
The Lacks Cancer Center,
and current capital campaign efforts for The
Hauenstein Center.
The Foundation also provides funds that advance the programs
and services for our patients and families and funds that
promote continuing education for our clinical team members.
Saint Mary’s Doran Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable
organization. Gifts made to the Foundation are tax deductible
in accordance with Internal Revenue Service regulations.

A little history…
In 1964, several friends of Frank Doran, MD, created the Doran
Foundation at Saint Mary’s hospital in his honor. A member
of the Saint Mary’s medical staff, Dr. Doran exemplified
the values of Catholic health care through his generosity,
compassion, and dedication to his patients. In 2000, after
36 years of grant making for Saint Mary’s services and
programs, trustees voted to officially merge the Doran Foundation
into the organizational structure of Saint Mary’s to
ensure its perpetuity. Today, Dr. Doran’s values and
legacy of giving live on through the Saint Mary’s Doran
Foundation and the gifts the Foundation makes in support of
Saint Mary’s. |
