Progressive Healing
The Wege Institute: Mind, Body and Spirit (MBS) uses an integrative approach for those who wish to increase self-awareness, enhance overall well-being and prevent future health issues. MBS interventions are also effective in treating persons with chronic illnesses. The Wege Institute provides proactive health interventions, such as massages, meditation and nutritional support. The institute also offers various classes and services including acupuncture, macrobiotic cooking, Feldenkrais, yoga and alternative therapies for smoking cessation and weight loss. Our naturopathic program focuses on general well-being and disease-prevention.
Meditation
Simply defined, meditation is extended thought or contemplation, and is an easily learned, highly beneficial health habit that greatly affects the mind, body and spirit. After about a month, people can clearly see its advantages. Co-led by Leonard Wright, medical director of The Wege Institute, and Diane Kreslins, chaplain of Saint Mary’s, Mid-morning Meditation meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the fifth floor of The Lacks Cancer Center. Free and open to all, but please call 752.5233 to reserve your spot.
