Patients with Parkinson’s Disease have multi-faceted
needs. Caregivers must know how to effectively deal with movement
problems, motor control, and complex medication schedules.
Cognitive and emotional difficulties often occur as well.
The Saint Mary’s Hauenstein Parkinson’s Center
was established to provide a multidisciplinary approach to
the problems confronting the Parkinson’s patient and
family. These same problems challenge care givers in long-term
facilities.
At this one-day, informative conference, you will learn how
to assess and treat Parkinson’s patients, and gain knowledge
about appropriate resources and referrals at our center. An
impressive team of Saint Mary’s experts in Parkinson’s
Disease will lead this important one-day conference.
The conference will educate participants about:
- the effectiveness of using a multidisciplinary
approach to PD care
- primary and secondary symptoms of PD
- medications that produce or aggravate PD
- other diseases that mimic PD
- medical and surgical treatment options
- psychological and psychiatric issues and treatments
- rehab testing/treatment strategies for PT, OT,
speech
- community support resources for patient and family
If you have questions and/or wish to register for the conference,
