One of Michigan's Best and Brightest

May 2004 - Saint Mary's was selected as one of West Michigan's 101 Best and Brightest companies to work for by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). With over 20,000 members representing over 160,000 employees, the MBPA award places Saint Mary's among the ranks of companies with the vision and dedication to recruit and retain the best employees.

Only organizations that recognize employees as their greatest assets and work with imagination and conviction to create organizational value and business results through people receive the Best and Brightest Award.

To be considered for the Award, companies must be nominated by one of their employees. The HR department then completes an extensive ten-page survey and provides the panel of judges with an employee roster. Finally, the panel of judges, randomly select employees to complete an extensive survey about their work environment.

Categories for award consideration are: diversity and multi-culturalism; work-life balance; employee communications and recognition; compensation and benefits, employee education and development, recruitment and retention, employee motivation and enthusiasm, community initiatives, and strategic planning and integration.
