Billing
Insured Patients
Saint Mary’s Mercy Medical Center participates with Medicare, Medicaid
and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan, and many others. All individual, group,
self-insured, HMOs and CHAMPUS policies will also be directly billed. It is your
responsibility to complete any claim forms and to provide your insurance carrier
with any information they requires. If you have additional insurance information
that was not available during Admitting or questions as to whether Saint Mary’s
participates with your insurance carrier, please contact Patient Accounts Customer
Service at 643-3500.
Uninsured Patients
Saint Mary’s accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover for
payment of your hospital bills. Please contact Saint Mary’s Patient Accounts
Customer Service to arrange a payment plan if you are unable to pay your hospital
bill at 643-3500.
Cashier
The cashier is located near the Visitor Elevator on the first
floor. The cashier accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express,
and Discover for insurance deductibles, co-payment plans,
Kent Radiology fees, and Professional Financial Services.
Review of Care
Your insurance company or HMO/PPO may determine that inpatient hospitalization
is no longer necessary. Any additional time you spend in the hospital might become
your financial responsibility. Saint Mary’s Health Services will make every
effort to provide the appropriate care you need. A Patient Advisor will help you
make the best decisions to ensure your health and financial situation. Saint Mary’s
will continue to provide the care you require regardless of your financial situation.

Other Bills
During your hospital stay, you may need some professional
services that are not part of Saint Mary’s Mercy Medical
Center and are billed separately. Some of the organizations
