The Medical Records/Transcription Department processes, stores
and retrieves all inpatient records, as well as records for
Emergency Department patients, and most outpatients, excluding
Clinic, Outpatient Lab, Outpatient Rehab and Dialysis.

Services
- Maintain medical records for ongoing patient care
- Forward records to physicians' offices, insurance companies
and hospitals
- Respond to subpoenas for medical records
- Review records for completeness, make incomplete records
available to physicians for completion
- Transcribe dictated reports (H&P, Operative, Discharge
Summary, Emergency Department, Consults, PMU)
- Code medical records for billing/clinical database
- Provide abstract medical records for clinical database
